The Tignes dam water intakes supplied by a PowiDian Energy SAGES® station

Located at an altitude of 2,200 m in Savoie, the Nant Cruet SAGES® station is supplied as part of the automation of water intakes supplying the Tignes dam. Indeed, until recently, the operation of the water intake was completely manual and required the physical presence of an operator.
With its set of solar panels, its fuel cell and its hydrogen storage, this station provides a permanent and reliable supply of the valves, the PLC and the utilities of the water intake, thus limiting the movement of operators to an isolated and inaccessible location.
The commissioning included the installation of the “fuel cell” cabinet in the existing premises, the installation of the solar panels and their structure. The exterior layout was equipped with the hydrogen plate and its frame of 18 bottles helicoptered to the site.
The entire new layout of the Nant Cruet water intake will be put into service by EDF next September.
